Happy Mother's Day.....

When Kara was a little girl.... she learned the Primary song.... "Mother.... I Love You" She would sing that to me on Mother's Day...... for years. The most precious year was when Kara was serving on her church mission in New York. Now... in that eighteen month period... I could only talk to her on Christmas and Mother's Day..... When Mother's Day came.... I missed the call... and on my voice message.... she sang.... "Mother I love you.....Mother I do......" I cried and cried... Later.. we did get to talk that day. I kept that sweet song and played it while she finished her mission... It was of great comfort to hear her lovely voice. A new Mother's Day came this year. We would not be together that day..... when I opened my card... she sang....Yes, Mother I love you. For over 25 years.... the magic of hearing my daughter sing this song to me, will forever touch my heartstrings.

My Father's Chair

I was so surprised when I opened this picture....... my mind immediately went back to 1973. My Father's brown leather chair sat in the living room of our house.... not a curtain on the big picture window behind it. In the many nights of living in a small town..... Dad would come down in his Kimono, usually hand made by his lovely wife, Opal. As the kids cleaned up the kitchen after supper, you would hear the TV on in this room.
Should we ever get a phone call (in high school).... the limit was 5 minutes. He would monitor the clock and announce..."ShadRack... 5 minutes are up." Click....back to the rumbas of the kitchen. Just after 700pm...Dad would start to yawn and head upstairs. Then the fun began! Opal would crack out a game of chess.... we would watch TV, maybe sharing a chocolate chip cookie or two.
I would always imagine somebody appearing at that big picture window at night....Scary! Next to Dad's chair on his end table, sat a big green ashtray. It held his pipe and aftermath of cigarettes.... Once in awhile he had a bag of those awful, sugar covered orange slices! Dad how I love and miss you....
Lev.....thank you for the memory!

Wishing Upon A Star............
I have someone very special in my life that I would like to make a wish for.... if I look upon the sky tonight and pick the brightest star.... make my wish... sprinkle it with star dust...... and watch the sky in it's magic embrace my wish then the magic will begin.......star dust will sprinkle down upon my special person .... unaware they have been chosen.
Star light .....star bright..... first star I see tonight.... wish I may ....wish I might have this wish I wish tonight........
Star light .....star bright..... first star I see tonight.... wish I may ....wish I might have this wish I wish tonight........

A Snowy Day
So..... what do you do on a Snowy day? The windows are covered with icy snow........ the wind is blowing the snow in swirls around the yard...... It's too cold to go outside...... to bad to travel to town....... the oven needs repair.... to bake cookies. So.......you get online ..........look for a pattern ........... go upstairs in your cozy sewing room...........oblivious to the outside........ you sew away....
